In this project we the option to convey our philosophy on what beliefs our life is based on every day. I chose how America is run by greed, in doing this I chose to use music as my delivery device. I wrote lyrics and three songs (all are instrumentals at the moment). In writing these songs I found that my belief is shown in everything from making it to where schools get healthy food when its truly more sugar and wheat than anything because it is cheap. I also found that I think America should change certain policies because we create a reality that if you don't have money, you dread walking into the store. the song Capitalist Island is the one I related to based on Americas government, I wrote it because it would be fun but also to bring to light our country thrives on a broken system. Everything is above and has meaning to me since they are instrumentals what lyrics you find in the chords and how it's played is totally up for interpretation.
Your Life on Earth Reflection
During this project I found that the music I made was mainly soul or built randomly out of soundboards attempting to see what would give the feelings I share about my philosophy. I am always going to think on this but I'm going to allow my intellect to filter out what is rational and what isn't. My belief has shaped the things I do in life because whether or not I need money to survive in today's society. I work to save and am working on not making impulse purchases. It has shaped my mind's eye for how things such as gas/oil prices rise the moment something happens in a third world country.
In this project my buddy Clay B. and I teamed up on a project to take a devil's advocate side for how we believe in a topic, in this case we decided cars electric versus gasoline. Clay took gasoline and I got electric cars but when it came to the final project, we decided too finally do the devil's advocate using each other's research. Doing this gave me the opportunity to make a commercial that mainly is based around Ford because it was the first vehicle brand I could think of. You will see Clay and I's scripts below.
During this project I challenged myself to make a video from a middle ground standpoint this was very difficult because I found myself getting upset with the fact that no matter what I did it came out very left or right sided. As I went through the project, I overcame these obstacles by taking a break and then editing to make it look right for what would be considered middle ground, I found that ideology is heavily sided with the political spectrum whether it is communistic to conservative. I am not comfortable telling my standpoint politically, but I will say that it has altered slightly because I have a better understanding for how my ideals are shaped by the people surrounding me. I understand that ideology is shaped through beliefs, but it is dependent on how their dogma is set. I learned that my project heavily shows my standing, but it will be differed by a growth mindset for me to explain my standing. Rogerian arguments play the part in finding the middle ground to have the public or both sides follow in order to get your policy across.
